Community Garden Plot & Registration
Welcome to our organic community garden plots at the Langford Schoolhouse, 1694 Colborne St East. We hope you will join us for the 2017 season!
Our plots are 10' x 10' and cost $40 for the year. Plots will be available by May 7th.
We will be hosting a meeting with last year's gardeners to review the season and plan for the coming season. Date for the meeting TBD.
We are also hosting an organic gardening workshop this spring for new and returning gardeners and community members. The cost for the workshop is $10, or free if you have purchased a garden plot.
Payment for plots and the workshop can be made here on the website, by cheque to Langford Conservancy, or with cash.
The garden plots are for growing vegetables for your own personal use only.
No synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, GMO seeds or seedlings and no treated seeds are allowed. We also don't allow black landscape fabric or tarps to be used.
You will be asked to sign an agreement where the details are spelled out about the regulations of the garden plot in more detail.
We will supply some hand tools, a wheelbarrow, rain water collected with rain barrels and the soil will be worked up with compost added so it's ready to go.
We adhere to certified organic standards, so we require everyone to let us know in advance if they wish to add any soil amendments.
There is also a picnic bench and an outhouse on site.
Parking is available in designated areas.
